· State any two reasons mentioned in the article which contributes to the sharp rise in girls under 16 having sex.

1. Their desire for a closer connection with their boyfriend, it might caused by curiosity as most
of her friend had tried it and she wants to tried it too.

2. Being pressured by their boyfriend into giving themselves, these girls were seeking emotional fulfilment rather than a physical connection; some felt compelled to give in to the demands of their partners to prove their love.


· What are some consequences which a girl might face for engaging in casual sex?

Teens may be unaware of the consequences - unwanted babies or disease - or are turning a blind eye to them. They might not want to have the baby as they were still young but they will risk their lives for aborting the baby. They will risk themselves facing sexually transmitted disease (STD)

Question 2:
What are some of your reactions after reading this article? If one day, a close friend of yours confess to you that he/she has been engaging in sex, what would your advice to him/her be?

I think that is quite common in Singapore nowadays, they might lose their virgin due to curiosity
it will be a big responsibility to give to give birth at a young age, and might face problem in the future. I will encourage them to stop having sex, as we are still young. i will encourage him/her to check up. If they felt that it might be difficult for them, they may consult a teacher, councillor or even their family members
